Application Lab – Laser

The Laser Application Lab is a dynamic and specialised space, entirely dedicated to the study and application of laser technologies in the field of the treatment and shaping of ceramic materials.

EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGIES

  • 2D selective sintering laser
  • 3-axis cutting YAG-CO2 laser: Nd/YAG pulsed YAG – 300 W (2.3kW peak) – 1064 nm – 180 µm focal length / CO2 – 200 W – 10.6 µm (IR) – 100 µm focal length
  • Nd: YAG laser for 3-axis cladding: continuous 1 kW – coaxial nozzle for powder supply
  • Micro-ablation laser: pulsed nanosecond excimer >1 MW peak – KrF* exiplex gas – 248 nm (UV) – 10 µm resolution using masks
  • 5-axis machining laser : Nd:YAG (1064 nm) from 15 to 100 W continuous or pulsed nanosecond (>100 kW peak) – 80 µm resolution (min 60µm)
  • SLM/SLS 3D rapid prototyping laser: 200W continuous Ytterbium fibre laser (1064 nm) – resolution of around 30 µm
  • Metal etching laser (OMTECH)
  • Hybrid laser machine

  • Delta Elektronika DC voltage generator (70 V max)
  • A29HTI automatic paint gun
  • Preeflow Ecospray gun
  • HT rotfil heating plate
