Application Lab – Laser

The Laser Application Lab is a dynamic and specialised space, entirely dedicated to the study and application of laser technologies in the field of the treatment and shaping of ceramic materials.

EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGIES

2D selective sintering laser
3-axis cutting YAG-CO2 laser: Nd/YAG pulsed YAG – 300 W (2.3kW peak) – 1064 nm – 180 µm focal length / CO2 – 200 W – 10.6 µm (IR) – 100 µm focal length
Nd: YAG laser for 3-axis cladding: continuous 1 kW – coaxial nozzle for powder supply
Micro-ablation laser: pulsed nanosecond excimer >1 MW peak – KrF* exiplex gas – 248 nm (UV) – 10 µm resolution using masks
5-axis machining laser : Nd:YAG (1064 nm) from 15 to 100 W continuous or pulsed nanosecond (>100 kW peak) – 80 µm resolution (min 60µm)
SLM/SLS 3D rapid prototyping laser: 200W continuous Ytterbium fibre laser (1064 nm) – resolution of around 30 µm
Metal etching laser (OMTECH)
Hybrid laser machine
